MY BACKGROUND

Since 2008, I have had the privilege of supporting my clients as they experience life's challenges, joys, adventures, and opportunities for growth.   My passion is helping people recover when something has interrupted or limited their growth - that could be trauma, loss, addiction, shame, relationship changes, or any number of events.

Having experienced my own recovery from trauma and relationship challenges, and having witnessed my loved ones experience recovery from addictions, I know first-hand the daily struggle.  One of my favorite definitions of recovery is "recovering the person you are meant to be." As such, I see it as an incredible honor to support people in living full, expansive, authentic lives.

I believe transitions call on us to shift, adapt, and grow, but this can be challenging if we are stuck in "old" patterns of thinking or behaving that no longer serve us.  To help with this, my work combines Internal Family Systems (IFS) Parts Work, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and EMDR to support my clients in embodying their full selves and orienting towards growth.

As a fat person (yes -- fat is not a bad word!), I believe in building a world where we are all valued and free to live our lives with dignity and authenticity.  This means I support liberation and that I oppose all forms of oppression.  Outside of the therapy room, I have an active yoga practice and am involved in music and community theatre.  I also love hiking, swimming, and galivanting with other fat-identified folks.  As such, I am fully committed to helping people find their unique versions of movement, play, and community as vital aspects of integrated health.
